Jann has spent most of her career in the health sector. She began as a receptionist at Wigram Airforce Base Hospital, then spent nine years at RPA Hospital in Sydney — primarily in medical records, with additional work in IT, special projects, and the Cancer Registry, where she trained as a clinical coder.
Returning to New Zealand, she worked for Canterbury DHB as a clinical coder and in data intelligence. She then spent 27 years at St George’s Hospital across surgical services, maternity, and the cancer treatment centre — managing several departments and serving as a database administrator and application specialist with a focus on data mining and BI.
Most recently, Jann worked remotely as a support specialist for an international hospital software company across Australia and New Zealand. She is also a long-time volunteer with Health Forum NZ.
Outside of work, Jann loves to travel, read, and spend time in her vegetable garden.
